  1. I had no idea you could put oats in a blender. very cool! people spend so much money on baby food when it seems easy and cheap to make it yourself!

    • Hi Penelope, yes we can put oats in a blender in order ti make it smooth and puree like in consistency so that our baby can have it easily.

  2. Hi, Oats are perfect and super healthy for baby. but for instance I offered my baby (both actually) oats only after offered them vegetables (in age of 7 month) and didn’t use milk formula – the same as you blended, just boiled on water only. I didn’t add anything in the beginning (reason – to not make all sweet for baby, to let him taste real taste of product). Later I started to make taste more interesting, but in fact my older one refused to eat with anything except pure (I tried banana, apple, berries, – nothing worked), and I didn’t push him. completely different was my youngest one – he refused to eat pure oats pretty fast and I need to make it more sweet with banana, pear or apple. so one mum and dad babies can be different 😀

    • Hi Lana, thank you so much for sharing your comments on this article. Oats are really a super food full of healthy nutrients and fiber, a perfect food to start the day with, especially for babies.

  3. Honestly, I did not start oats until my baby reached 7 months, even though we started solids at 5 months. We were more concentrated on veggies and fruits, to give her a taste of those first and then grains.
However, once we started oats, my baby loved them. Millet porridge is our second favorite 😉
My baby is 13 months now so we currently use porridge oats with flax seeds. I usually cook the oats for 20 minutes with water. Once the oats are ready I mash a banana in the plate and mix oats in. To make milk oatmeal, after 15 mins on boiling with the water I add a little bit of milk and let it cook on very low for about 5 mins.
